About This Anchorage
A nearly circular bay on the outer Pacific coast of Baja, 225 nm south of Tortugas and 140 nm north of Cabo. Completely uninhabited — no town, no fuel, no supplies — just perfect sand holding, dunes, mangroves, and one of the most tranquil anchorages on the entire Baja coast. The Ha-Ha's second stopover, and one of the great wilderness stops on any Pacific passage.
Highlights
- Baja Ha-Ha second stopover — beach party on the dunes in November
- Excellent holding — sand bottom, 20–30 feet, flat calm most nights
- Whale sharks — aggregate here October through March
- Manta rays — frequent visitors in the outer bay
- World-class fishing — roosterfish, dorado, yellowfin tuna near the bay mouth
- Zero light pollution — 300+ miles from any city, extraordinary night sky
- Pristine beach — miles of dunes, shore birds, complete solitude outside rally season
Cautions & Notes

- Come fully provisioned from Tortugas or Ensenada
- No port of entry — not a customs/immigration stop
- Outer Pacific exposure — entrance can have significant swell in heavy NW conditions
