Baja California & Mexico Anchorages
3 anchorages — depth, holding, shelter and shore access.
Bahia de Tortugas — Baja Pacific Anchorage
Central Baja California
Bahia de Tortugas is the first major anchorage on the Pacific side of Baja California, 390 nautical miles south of San Diego. A small fishing village lines the east shore of this broad bay. Deep anchorage (50–80 ft), diesel by panga, and the famous Enriqueta's restaurant on the beach — the social hub of the Baja Ha-Ha's first stopover.
Bahia Santa Maria — Baja Pacific Wilderness Anchorage
Southern Baja California Pacific Coast
A nearly circular bay on the outer Pacific coast of Baja, 225 nm south of Tortugas and 140 nm north of Cabo. Completely uninhabited — no town, no fuel, no supplies — just perfect sand holding, dunes, mangroves, and one of the most tranquil anchorages on the entire Baja coast. The Ha-Ha's second stopover, and one of the great wilderness stops on any Pacific passage.
Cabo San Lucas — Outer Anchorage
Los Cabos
The outer anchorage of Bahia de Cabo San Lucas, directly in front of the marina and the famous El Arco at Land's End. Free anchoring with dinghy access to the marina dock. The iconic finish for the Baja Ha-Ha and the gateway to the Sea of Cortez — dramatic scenery, sea lions on the rocks, and the buzz of a resort town a dinghy ride away.
