Squalicum Harbor
About
Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham is Washington State's largest public marina, with nearly 2,000 slips housing a mix of pleasure craft, commercial fishing vessels, and live-aboards. Its position at the north end of Puget Sound makes it the natural staging point for Canadian waters — Victoria, the Gulf Islands, and the BC coast are all closer from Bellingham than from any other major Washington marina. The Bellingham waterfront has undergone significant revitalization; Fairhaven village (2 miles south) has excellent restaurants and a charming historic district. Provisioning in Bellingham is comprehensive. The nearby Bellingham Technical College has a marine trades program, which means plenty of skilled repair and service options within a short drive of the docks.
